The Ottawa Public Library provides computer services at all of its 33 branches during its regular hours of operation.
Up to two hours per day of PC access for valid library cardholders.
PC time can be booked in advance using their Online Booking System (OBS) or as available on a drop in basis.
High speed and wireless service is available in all branches.
To use the library's computers you need to have a valid library card.
The National Capital Freenet (NCF) is not-for-profit and non-commercial. NCF is owned by its members, and was established in 1992 by people at Carleton University. Since then, over 100,000 people in Canada's national capital region have registered with NCF. Membership is free.
The NCF is volunteer driven. Many individuals help in the office, as board members, with problems online, by writing software and manuals, organizing, work with school children and seniors.
The NCF offers a number of Internet services to the residents of Ottawa. Their dial-up service is donation based - you pay what you can - while their high-speed service costs around $30 a month.
